An IP Address (Internet Protocol Address) is the address that are use to signify every computer or device on a TCP/IP network.Every device on the network needs an ip address to talk or communicate each other.No machines on the network have the same IP address.If the Device or Computer on the network does not have an IP address it can not communicate with other devices.
There are two version of Ip address
One is Ipv4 (Internet Protocol Version 4) 32bit and
the other one is Ipv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6)
We are currently use IPV4, which is 32bit addressing method divided into 4 octal and separated by . (dot)
Ip address are divided into 5 categories:-
Class A --> 1.0.0.0 to 127.255.255.255
Class B --> 128.0.0.0 to 191.255.255.255
Class C --> 192.0.0.0 to 223.255.255.255
Class D --> 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255
Class E --> 240.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255
